Introduction to Design Thinking with Dr Kaustubh Dhargalkar Ph.D (Innovation Mgt), an acclaimed professor of Innovation & Design Thinking Currently, a visiting faculty @ IIT-Bombay, IIM-Sirmaur, ICT-Mumbai, NMIMS, Weschool.
Dr Kaustubh is a Design Thinking Trainer/Coach and an ‘Innovation & Strategy’ Consultant. He has authored ‘It’s Logical: Innovating Profitable Business Models’ (Sage Publications). He was honoured as ‘Entrepreneurship Educator & Mentor’ Award by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship-Govt. of India, , INTEL, British Council, NEN, EDII. His work in the field of ‘Unconventional User Research’ was acknowledged by The Wharton School of Business. Awarded the runner-up award in the global ‘Wharton Innovation Tournament’ in 2010 for an app for mining Consumer Pain Points. Likewise, his proposal on clean energy integration with electric vehicles was adjudged as the top seven in the world at the Smart City World Expo Congress held in Barcelona, Spain.
In today’s session Dr Kaustubh introduced Design Thinking and why is it a necessity in today’s entrepreneurial world.
He impelled Startup Founders to shift their paradigm of thinking in order to reach to the same customer in a different way. He emphasised on finding solutions that have deep user-centricity, using last-mile connect to full advantage, and accounting extreme scenarios as they usually bring out the real problem. Furthermore, he stressed on striving to attain the sweet spot for innovation from the intersection of Desirability, Feasibility and Viability.
