National Startup Day 2024
On January 16, 2024, AIC – SMU Technology Business Incubator hosted the annual National Startup Day celebration, bringing together entrepreneurs, students, and mentors. The event was led by Sushmita Prasad who shared an inspiring introduction to the significance of National Startup Day and an overview of the AIC-SMU Technology Business Incubator. Dr. Bikash Sharma, HOD, ECE Dept. and Head of E-Cell at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, further shared a keynote session on the challenges faced by academia in fostering and supporting startup initiatives.
The event additionally showcased a fireside chat moderated by Lakshyaa Gurung and an engaging Idea Exposition where studentpreneurs showcased innovative ideas. Facilitated by Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, interactive activities added a layer of dynamism, creating a day of collective learning. The event concluded with Smty Pradhan expressing gratitude to participants.
AIC – SMU Technology Business Incubator’s impact on the startup ecosystem has been highlighted through recognition by the National Startup Advisory Council and collaborations with esteemed organizations like Atal Innovation Mission Official , NITI Aayog, Startup India, Meta, Google for Startups, Wadhwani Foundation, among others. The event showcased vibrant discussions and interactive networking opportunities, fostering community engagement.
