Story behind our Startup:
We at Nibiaa Devices believe in adoption of emerging technologies and the best practices of the latest innovations across the world for solving local problems and providing a costs effective alternative solution. With this vision we set out to find which sector has the minimal technology penetration and how we can improve the sector with the application of technology. We ended up with Agriculture. Itis the primary source of income for a majority of population in the North-East and also the rest of India. Agriculture is an industry which hasn’t been given much importance because it is not glamourous, but it is a fact that by 2050 the population of the world will reach 9.2 billion and we have to double the current agricultural productivity to feed every mouth. Hence, in the next 30 agriculture production cycle we have to figure out ways to double production with the same or shirking agricultural land without degrading the environment or soil quality and performing sustainable agricultural practices. Nibiaa Devices is currently working on Internet of things(IoT) and AI based precision agriculture solution specially focused on Tea Gardens initially and later will be moved to other agricultural produce. The goal of precision agriculture research is to define a decision support system (DSS) for whole farm management with the goal of optimizing returns on inputs while preserving resources. There is ongoing requirement to improve the yield and overall quality of the tea gardens by making sure the Environment parameters like weather patterns, rainfall patterns, temperature and humidity, soil quality in the form of moisture content, soil pH and soil NPK fertilizer content etc. are monitored and measured periodically for the garden. These inputs are necessary to identifies, analyses, and manages variability in fields by conducting crop production practices at the right place and time and in the right way, for optimum profitability, sustainability, and protection of the land resource for sustainable farming practices. Currently these parameters are either measured manually using soil testing in labs or usage of traditional methods like rain gauge to measure rainfall quantity, weather forecast data from mobile devices and in most cases tea garden owners still maintain manual log-book registry to measure the temperature-humidity, rainfall etc. daily and compare the data over the last 10 Years to predictthe future pattern and make critical decision on harvesting, pruning, fertilizer application, irrigation etc. which is a labor intensive and tedious exercise.

To enable and facilitate the adoption of emerging technologies and the best practices of the latest innovations across the world for solving local problems and providing a costs effective solution and to improve people’s lives by coming up with meaningful innovations.
Nibiaa Devices has come up with an IoT / AI platform which aggregates all the relevant information for a particular tea garden management by plotting polygons diagram of a particular farm and providing all relevant information like weather forecast, rainfall forecast, temperature and humidity, satellite imagery like NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and EVI(Enhanced Vegetation Index) for a particular farm. On top of these data , Nibiaa devices has also build a LoRaWAN IoT node capable of capturing upto 4 different sensor data from the ground which will provide real-time Soil pH, Soil NPK content in mg/kg, Soil moisture etc. directly from the tea garden fields. The platform also has the capability to bring in last 10 years historical environment data for the particular farm on need basis. These information can be accessed by the tea garden managers and owners to get real-time insight on various conditions of the garden remotely from anywhere around the world. Having all these critical environment monitoring data on a single platform and a dashboard is very critical for active farm monitoring and making critical decisions during the farming process and we are providing these services for a monthly subscription.
Future Capabilities :
Based on all the data collected from the particular field either in the form of satellite imagery, weather and rainfall data along with the actual data collected from sensors in the field , Nibiaa Devices will be able to run AI based predictive analytics Model and help farmers in answering critical questions about the farm overall management and provide a decision support system solution.
Current Status :
Nibiaa Devices has built a prototype of the Sensor Node capable of capturing upto 4 different sensor data and currently is in active testing phase. We are also in the process of building our robust IoT Platform capable of handing 1000s of devices and collecting various weather, rainfall , satellite, and climate related data using API from various reliable sources on near real-time basis.
Aeroshil Nameirakpam ( Co-Founder/ CEO) : Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Investment Banking from Lincoln University, California, USA. He has over 14 years of total work experience out of which he spent 9 years in US as an Enterprise Performance Management Consultants and has done multiple projects in various prestigious Silicon Valley firms like Deloitte, Google Inc., eBay Inc,Citrix, WarnerBros etc. to name a few. He has also provided Consultancy Services in various industries such as Pharmaceutical, Mining, Oil and Gas, Media and Entertainment Industry helping the client solve their Business Planning, budgeting, and Forecasting Business Problem. He came back to Manipur for good around November 2016 and he has been taking a pivotal role in bringing Startup Culture in Manipur and Organized Startup Weekend Events and Google MapUp Events for the First time in North Eastern Part of India. He currently runs a management consulting firm Nibiaa Consultancy Pvt.Ltd. and recently has been working full time with IoT and AI application solution for agriculture for his newly registered startup Nibiaa Devices Prof.N. Irabanta Singh, Co-founder:Former Professor (Higher Academic Grade)/Life Sciences and former Dean, School of Life-Sciences, Manipur University who has served this prestigious Institution for three decades.He had initiated digitalization for aerobiological data in Manipur. (i) airborne blue green algae of Manipur, (ii) database for airborne fungal spores and (iii) database for providing morphological characters, their allergenic effects and microscopic images of each species which can be viewed. He has been setting up a guiding principle for the organization vision and objectives. He has about 42 years of agricultural research and teaching experience in Aerobiology, Microbiology, and plant pathology. He has completed 14 Major research projects, guided 25+ PhD Scholars and published more then150 research papers in leading national and international papers in the field of agriculture.
