AIC-SMUTBI organised an Awareness Workshop on NER Entrepreneurs and Startup Summit “NERES 1.0” for the State of Sikkim on the 30th of January 2020 along with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Sikkim as Joint Organizer. Welcoming the participants, N.Jaswant, Additional Director, Dept of Commerce & Industries, Govt of Sikkim briefed about the Startup ecosystem in the State and the government initiatives for promotion of startup culture in the state.


Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organised an Awareness Workshop on NER Entrepreneurs and Startup Summit “NERES 1.0” for the State of Sikkim on the 30th of January 2020 with Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Sikkim as Joint Organizer and AIC-SMUTBI as Event Partner. Welcoming the participants, N.Jaswant, Additional Director, Dept of Commerce & Industries, Govt of Sikkim briefed about the Startup ecosystem in the State and the government initiatives for promotion of startup culture in the state.

Dr. Tejbanta S. Chingtham, CEO, AIC-SMUTBI spoke about various aspects of entrepreneurship and business opportunities in Sikkim. A number of startup founders from the state shared their experiences of their entrepreneurial journey. Amitav Dutta, Project Head, IIE spoke about the objective of the summit. He further mentioned that NERES 1.0 summit has received a very positive response from the start-ups and other entrepreneurial forums as this is the first time that a big amount is being given as a grant to the start-ups without any equity. The event ended with a Q&A sessions and a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Yangtsola Lama, Incubation Manager, AIC-SMUTBI.
